Biggest Little Action Group is a small group of people committed to the defense of democracy, the Constitution, and human dignity in the face of the assaults of the Trump administration.
We are committed to direct action. Some actions we've done this year include displaying portraits of the victims of ICE disappearances at the federal courthouse and at Reno's baseball stadium; creating and distributing Know Your Rights information to interstate passengers on Greyhound and Amtrak; calling for citizens to make public comment at the Board of Commissioners meeting to testify against the cooperation between ICE and the county jail; and organizing opposition to the local Republican congressman and his reluctance to hold a town hall. We're also the people responsible for displaying antifascist messages over I-80 during rush hour, and we created and deployed the giant banners at the Oct. 18, 2025 No Kings event in Reno. Some of our individual members are involved in community defense networks like ICE Response and Court Accompaniment. We do as much as we can and welcome new ideas and new members all the time.
We are nonviolent and non-vandalizing. We work in support of democracy and the Constitution, and against the fascist actions and executive overreach of the Trump administration and its supporters and enablers. Everyone can play a role in this fight. We began coming together in February, 2025, as a response not only to the assaults of Trump and Trumpism, but also to the conservative local style of protests, which mainly involve standing on a sidewalk waving signs at passing cars. While some of our actions are just that, we strive to do more, and constantly look for new and effective ways to express our outrage and heartbreak, and also our creativity and joy.

how you can join us in resistance
We meet every Wednesday at 6:00 pm for little more than an hour. The rest of the time, we're planning and carrying out actions.

In our meetings, everyone is welcome. We discuss planned and potential actions, and we welcome and encourage new ideas, enthusiasm for local iterations of national campaigns, and anything (nonviolent and non-vandalizing) that will defend democracy and our neighbors from the assaults of the Trump administration and its enablers and clients.

TELL Nevada DMV: Stop Enabling ICE!
The ACLU says DMV records reveal undisclosed cooperation between the DMV and ICE, including requests for personal data like addresses and vehicle registration information. They also accuse the DMV of communicating with ICE via the encrypted messaging app Signal.
The ACLU of Nevada is seeking a court order demanding the release of all requested records in compliance with Nevada law. But since the judge ordered the DMV to turn over more than 100 records in question, the agency has stonewalled the judge. Only a fraction of the records have been shared with the ACLU.
Join us on Sat. April 11 to tell the DMV to release the documents as ordered by the judge, and stop cooperating with ICE!

FLOCK CAMERAS AND SURVEILLANCE
Flock cameras -- automated license plate reading cameras that are also capable of capturing your gait, your likeness, descriptions of your clothing and your car, what direction you're moving, how fast -- are installed everywhere in the United States. Many of them are visible -- they look like the oblong black shape in the upper right in the picture above -- and many are hidden. Flock Safety convinced police in cities and counties across the U.S. to install them to fight crime.
In Nevada, no law regulates them. Reno and Sparks alone, there are hundreds of Flock cameras, and the Washoe Co. Sheriff's Dept. can access those cameras as well as thousands of others belonging to private businesses -- in real time. Anytime you walk around downtown or in and out of a casino, any time you go in and out of a parking garage, anytime you enter the hundredds of participating businesses, you're on camera, and it's all recorded and probaby archived. And if the police want to, they can watch you everywhere you go -- again, in real time. Live.
Even worse, the Department of Homeland Security is capable of accessing the data that they record anytime, and they used it in Minneapolis to record the populace and their movements.
TAX STRIKE / MAY DAY
BLAG is partnering with Reno's Sunrise Movement chapter to prepare for May Day and the Tax Strike. More information at the Sunrise Movement's Mobilize page.

Nov. 28, 2025 - BIGGEST LITTLE STREETS
A couple of us went to the Xmas tree lighting event in downtown Reno the day after Thanksgiving. In addition to handling out whistles for community defense, we deployed the projector built by comrade Chris.
Here's the Instagram reel by Biggest Little Streets that was up on the internets before we even got home that night!

Nov. 17, 2025 - KUNR PUBLIC RADIO
Reno public radio station KUNR interviewed one of us about the whistle initiative, an effort to spread whistle throughout the area in preparation for the day when ICE/CPB does a surge like we've seen elsewhere.
